A fully integrated power management circuit for a magnetoelectric transducer remote powered implantable device

Amine Rhouni

Résumé

Magnetoelectric transducers are an interesting solution to remotely power sensors in environments where battery replacement must be avoided. Several energy management solutions have been proposed in the literature that provide excellent energy extraction from these transducers. Unfortunately, these are not compatible with biomedical implantable devices due to the use of large sized inductors. In this article an inductorless energy management system for the remote powering, with a magnetoelectric transducer, of biomedical implantable device is proposed. The system includes the entire power management and can supply a payload in short, periodic bursts.
