Taking into account what UNESCO has qualified as "Intangible Cultural Heritage", we will question what transmedia implements by articulating the digital immaterial with the non-digital. From this media immediacy, one high-tech and the other low-tech, we will try to show that transmedia devices offer the possibility, not so much of imaginary creations as of an imaginal world.From the imaginary manufactured through a programmed narration, we will pass to the imaginal, notion which contradicts the only manufacture of virtual universes to anchor the existence in a reality which engages "body and soul".Observing the manufacture of art since the invention of the ready-made, including the Internet and free software as contemporary art, we will be able to grasp the reasons for an eco-system that opens up to participatory uses of which transmedia is a carrier but which remains to be accomplished in reality. Indeed, our proposal suggests that taking transmedia seriously as a "fiction-function", such as the imaginal has been able to operate according to its own modalities and in a favorable historical context, could have consequences on our modes of existence. An immaterial world, a digital version of the imaginal world, open to the infinite and to the unfinished, would find with the transmedia a favorable ground of action to institute a sociability where real and virtual agree.

            <abstract xml:lang="fr">
