Editorial: Methods and Applications in Cognition
Résumé
Through its constant interaction with the everchanging physical world, the human brain has developed the exquisite capacity to adapt to unprecedented environmental conditions by developing new behavioral and cognitive strategies. During last century, an exponential technological growth and the impact of the "digital revolution" have lead human cognition to rapidly shape new ways of interacting with the world. Yet, most of the scientific research on human perception and learning is still focused on individual data, mostly collected under laboratory conditions
and thus neglecting new technological and other real-world constraints. Novel and innovative research methods are required to overcome this limitation, and to enable us to understand how human brain and cognition are evolving to adapt to the new digital and related challenges.
