Vehicle-Sharing Services: An Umbrella Review
Résumé
The recent years have seen the rapid development of vehicle-sharing services and their diversification. An abundant scientific literature deal with many of these services on various aspects. However, the literature is often segmented by category of service and/or by topic. In order to make sense of the existing literature, we conduct an umbrella review-or a review of literature reviewsthat covers all categories of vehicle-sharing services and all topics. We identify and present a synthesis of the results established in the scientific literature so far: on business models, users and trips, impacts, and regulation. Our non-segmented approach reveals the existence of results shared by categories of services often studied separately, but also of results that depends on other factors than the categories of services generally used. The research highlights the need for new research, in particular research that compare different vehicle-sharing services.
