Comparison of Energy Management Strategies in a Microgrid with Photovoltaic/Battery System

Résumé

Using PV energy sources decreases the supply of electrical household energy by the main grid. Energy management strategies are here developed and applied to a microgrid connected to a PV plant coupled to a battery storage; this microgrid supplies in electricity a building and an electric car. The objective is to analyse the impact of the management strategy on the cost and on the energy part in considering the current electricity tariff in France. Some strategies require a forecasting tool of the PV power and it is shown that the energy strategy performance increases with the complexity of the decision algorithm and the use of PV forecasting.
