Les écrits des musées : quels sont les types d’écrit dans un musée et leurs conditions de réception ?
Abstract
The present article discusses the role of museums as a space for communication and dialogue between the exhibited objects and visitors. It argues that the museum should be considered as a linguistic landscape, much like urban spaces, and that the fixed texts, such as panels and labels, form a monolingual or multilingual landscape in the museum. The article also mentions the different forms of mediation used in museums, including texts, images, and objects, which are arranged in a coherent and pragmatic way to communicate specific messages to visitors. The affordances of these devices are also discussed, which refers to the properties of an object that allow us to predict its use in a particular environment. The article emphasizes the importance of written texts in museums, especially those that are located near the exhibited objects and provide information and context for visitors.
