Abstract

This paper describes a new architecture (horizontal network) to provide a much better security than in vertical networks. The architecture is fully distributed and based on mobile embedded data centers. The architecture is defined as a superposition of functions associated to network elements, applications, and security paradigms. The main idea is to distribute all of these functions in embedded femto data centers, themselves integrated into mobile nodes situated in the immediate vicinity of the physical or virtual users. Environmental and data security is ensured by the proximity of the user. Isolation is the important word avoiding all Internet attacks. This isolation is obtained by security zones that use femto firewalls and HSM, integrated into the network nodes.
