After a quick overview of the debate the birth of the TNP-Villeurbanne generated, the article focuses on the analysis of a few clues that reveal the proximity between Roger Planchon and Patrice Chéreau. Finally, the analysis of the traces of the creations of the second version of Tartuffe (directed by Roger Planchon) and La Dispute (directed by Patrice Chéreau) offers a first study of the aesthetic specificity of these two plays. In this way, the article presents a first milestone in a crossed investigation of the trajectories of these two stage artists, attentive to the continuity and the difference between their respective practices.
