Philippe Artières is a French historian, director of research at the French National Center for Scientific Research in the Interdisciplinary Institute of Anthropology of Contemporary at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences and President of the Center Michel Foucault. Specialist in the ordinary writings of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, his research focuses on the monitoring of writings in the public space. Its many implications for the fiftieth anniversary of May 68 are a timely starting point for questioning the link between writing and event. The interview focuses on his research path, his interest in the ephemeral writings and especially those neglected, forgotten or even rejected, as well as on the question of the social attention paid to these writings.
