Abstract

The main parameters that influence the structure-reactivity relationship of ZnR2 and ZnRX types of organozinc and organozincate reagents are gathered in this perspective article. Influences of substituents, inorganic salts, and solvents are discussed and illustrated with examples from the literature. Based on the peculiarities of this chemical system, the perspective is enlarged by molecular modelling considerations to raise the comprehension at the molecular scale of structure-activity relationships of organozinc and organozincate reagents in solution.
