Акациры: северная окраина кочевой степи после Аттилы
Résumé
The article deals with the geographical localization of the Hunnic people Acatziri (Άκατίρων, gens Acatzirorum) in the Great Migration Period. In the era of Attila, in the 440s, this people lived in the eastern part of the steppes of the Northern Black Sea region, most likely in the basin of the Lower Don. Subsequently, around 463, as a result of the war with the Saraguri, Onoguri and Urogi (Uguri), the Acatziri were pushed northward, to the outskirts of the steppe in the basin of the Upper and Middle Don and on the left bank of the Dnieper. For the Late Hunnic and Post-Hunnic periods, single burials under the mounds, typical of the steppe nomads of that time, are known here. Apparently they are the archaeological traces of Acatziri. The written sources describe the Acatziri as a strong people (fortissimo gens). Most likely, this means that the Acatziri were able to unite in their union not only nomads, but also the sedentary Barbarians of the Upper Don and the Oka basins.
