"Un apport aux études sur la noblesse : les archives des ordres militaires"
Résumé
This article focuses the historiographic work in progress on the Military Orders, essentially studied by historians specializing in the Middle Ages, and the contribution that their archives can make to historians specializing in the Early Modern Period. At the end of the Middle Ages, the process of aristocratisation of Military Orders led to the production of many new archives which may be important for studies on the Early Modern nobility, and which make it possible to trace the networks of noble relations, at local, national and international scales.
