Low orbit Earth observing satellites store large amounts of acquired images on board during their missions. Planning the download of these images towards the Earth is a complex problem : the increasing number of images and stations causes a combinatorial explosion that is difficult to handle by existing techniques. We propose an adaptive multi-agent system to answer the complexity of the problem and optimize different download criteria. The agents of this system based on the AMAS4Opt model allow, thanks to their local behavior, the emergence of a satisfactory solution in a reasonable computation time. In this paper, we present the adaptive and cooperative behavior of these agents. A comparison with a commonly used algorithm on dynamic scenarios underlines the adequacy of the proposed approach.
