Corrigendum to “Middle Holocene marine and land-tetrapod biodiversity recovered from Galeão shell mound, Guanabara Bay, Brazil [Quat. Int. 610 (2022) 80–96]
Résumé
Having noticed some errors in the published Fig. 3 (page 84; Lopes et al., 2022) the authors have now replaced this with a corrected Fig. 3_modified.
The authors have also corrected the 1st line on page 85 (Lopes et al., 2022) to change the mention of “24 taxa” to 23 taxa. In addition, on this same page (1st paragraph), the species Sparus sp. has been excluded from this sentence.
The authors regret that in Table 1 (page 86; Lopes et al., 2022) there are mentions of the taxa Scaridae/Sparisoma sp. and Sparus sp. Upon further analysis it has been found necessary to remove their mentions from this table.
Accordingly, in addition, in Figure 4 caption (page 87; Lopes et al., 2022), the species “Sparus sp.” with Lagocephalus sp., and the species “Sparisoma sp.” has been replaced by Tetraodontidae. In addition, the mention of “23a-23c” at the end of the caption has been replaced by 10a-10d.
In the 1st paragraph of page 87 (Lopes et al., 2022) the authors have now removed “Sparus sp.” from the sentence. Also on page 87, the authors have replaced the first two sentences from the second paragraph which now read "The ichthyofauna found in the Galeão shell mound is predominantly estuarine, with 23 taxa of teleost fish, grouped into thirteen families: Ariidae, Centropomidae, Carangidae, Diodontidae, Ephippidae, Haemulidae, Lutjanidae, Mugilidae, Serranidae, Sciaenidae, Sparidae, Sphyraenidae, and Tetraodontidae. Additionally, 14 taxa of elasmobranchs were also recovered and grouped into six families: Alopiidae, Lamnidae, Carcharhinidae, Sphyrnidae, Myliobatidae, Rhinopteridae”.
The authors have also replaced Fig. 5 (page 88; Lopes et al., 2022) with a modified version, Fig. 5_modified.
Accordingly, the authors have also altered the Fig. 5 caption (page 88; Lopes et al., 2022). In the caption, the word “cranium” has been replaced by tympanic bull.
The authors have also now added further complementary sentences to the Data Availability section (page 92; Lopes et al., 2022) which now reads as follows: “The teleostean specimens studied in this work are housed in the zooarchaeological collections of Museu Nacional, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (MNUFRJ-GAL), Parque da Boa Vista, São Cristovão, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. All relevant species-specific characters were identified based on comparative anatomy, using dry skeletons and otoliths collections located at the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) and shark tooth collection of the Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). The teleostean and tetrapod specimens were also identified based on comparative anatomy using dry skeletons, at the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle: Anatomie Comparée collections, and Archéozoologie et Archéobotanique - Sociétés, Pratiques et Environnements, UMR 7209. Detailed information can be found in the Supplementary Data. Relevant species-specific osteological characters were also identified based on bibliographic support.
The authors have replaced the “Modern reference material list”, related to the Appendix A/Supplementary data (page 92; Lopes et al., 2022). The major changes in this document relate to topics D to H. For topic D, the curator Mashkour Marjan was replaced by curator Philippe Béarez. For topic E, the curator Mashkour Marjan was replaced by curator Patrice Pruvost. For topic F, the curator Mashkour Marjan was replaced by curator "Sandrine Grouard, available on the technical platform whose manager is Stéphanie Bréhard". For topic G, the curator Mashkour Marjan was replaced by the curator "Sandrine Grouard, available on the technical platform whose manager is Stéphanie Bréhard". For topic H, the curator Mashkour Marjan was replaced by the curator Salvador Bailon. The old document unfortunately contained orthographic errors, outdated revised species, and incorrect curator names, it was replaced by Modern reference material list_modified.
The authors have also excluded two references of the manuscript: “Figueiredo, JL, Sazima, I., 2001. A new parrotfish (Scaridae) from Brazil, and revalidation of Sparisoma amplum (ranzani, 1842), Sparisoma frondosum (agassiz, 1831), Sparisoma axillare (steindachner, 1878) and Scarus trispinosus (valenciennes, 1840). Bull. Mar. Sci. 68 (3), 505–524” and the reference “Muus, B.J., Nielsen, J.G., 1999. Sea Fish. Scandinavian Fishing Year Book, Hedehusene”.
