The first prose version of the Roman de Troie was composed, according to its epilogue, in Corinth, in Frankish Greece; this is also the hypothesis of the critics, based mainly on internal criteria. The present contribution aims to examine this location on the basis of the preserved manuscripts and their circulation as well as to propose a linguistic analysis of the oldest preserved copy, Paris BnF fr. 1612.
