Listen to the sounds that invade us

Abstract

Anthropophony.org collaborative sound library archives low intensity noise pollution sounds to denounce them. These tiny sounds, filtered by our auditory habituation (Mossberg), are infra-thin (Duchamp) and our interest in them is endotic (Augoyard). Thanks to a system of comments from the users of the sound library, the archived physical sound is enhanced with a perceptual-communicative dimension (Barbanti). The comments show that, despite a desire to denounce, we aestheticize our perceptions.
