NUMERICAL STUDY OF A HEATING SYSTEM BY FINS MOUNTED ON A CYLINDER IN A CYLINDRICAL CAVITY(COAXIAL CYLINDERS). IMPACT OF VARIOUS PARAMETERS
Résumé
The present work relates to a numerical studies of mixed convection around a horizontal cylinder heated and provided with fins and arranged in a cylindrical cavity. Moreover, the cylinder length is assumed to be infinite. Furthermore, the radiation transfer from the hot surface of the heat is assumed to be negligible, buoyancy effects are also considered, with Boussinesq approximation. The forced circulation is induced by the rotating inner cylinder with an angular speed (?), with its axis in the center of the annulus. The studies are made for various combinations of dimensionless numbers; Reynolds number (Re), Grashof number (Gr). These dimensionless parameters used in this study will be studied over a wide range of presenting the flow of base patterns and isotherms in a concentric cylindrical ring. A finite volume scheme is adopted to solve the equations governing the flow and the heat transfer the continuity, momentum and Energy equations.A finite volume scheme is adopted to solve this equations. The SIMPLE algorithm is used to solve the coupled system of algebraic equations. The results indicates that the heat exchange on the outer and inner cylinder characterized by the Nusselt number decreases on increasing the Reynolds number, and for low Reynolds number Thermal pen moves in the direction of movement, and vortex zones are born in the vicinity of the fins.
