NON LOCAL AND THERMAL EFFECTS IN A BI-STABLE LATTICE

Résumé

We extend a previous model in order to consider interface energy terms on a bistable chain undergoing phase transition.Specifically, by including the effects of non local, next to nearest neighbor (NNN), interactions we are able to describe both thepresence of stress peak and the phase evolution when temperature effects are not negligible. In both cases of applied displacement(Helmholtz ensemble) and force (Gibbs ensemble) we obtain fully analytical results for the stress-strain relations, the expectation valueof the number of interfaces, and the stress peak anticipating the nucleation of the new phase.
