New laser lines from a terahertz ammonia laser pumped by a quantum cascade laser and their application to high-resolution spectroscopy

Résumé

We present an experimental investigation into new continuous-wave laser lines from a terahertz ammonia laser pumped by a quantum cascade laser. These lines were investigated with the help of a molecular figure of merit calculated from spectroscopic parameters available in molecular databases. We also demonstrate the use of this laser as a local oscillator in a heterodyne high-resolution spectrometer between 1 and 3.4 THz.
