Bubble and Profile Decompositions Methods: a common Thread through many Works in Geometry, Physics and Fluid Mechanics
Résumé
Bubble and profile decompositions methods are a powerful tool, which is deeply connected with compactness issues in function spaces. The spectrum of their applications is quite broad and encompass in particular questions in geometry, mathematical physics and fluid mechanics. In this text, we survey the fundamental principles of this theory and showcase its various applications by presenting a few landmark articles.
