Stratified induction in possibilistic logic
Résumé
Possibilistic logic offers a framework for handling classical formulas associated with levels of certainty, or of priority which are viewed as lower bounds of a necessity measure. This logic has been developed in connection with deductive reasoning under uncertainty and with non monotonic reasoning. In this paper, we investigate the extension of classical inductive process to the stratified setting of possibilistic logic. The idea is to partition the set of examples into subsets having distinct levels of priority. An induced formulas all the better as it covers the more examples including those with low priority. An inductive possibilistic machinery is outlined and exemplified. Keywords : uncertainty, possibility theory, induction
