Study of rectenna topologies of semi-active wake-up radio applications

Résumé

Many structures of wake-up radio (WUR) are proposed to reduce the power consumption in wireless sensor network (WSNs). In the receiving part, RF input signal is rectified by the rectenna, which is the most important element in energy harvesting system. In this paper, four topologies of rectennas are applied to semiactive wake-up radio’s applications: series-mounted, shunt-mounted, voltage doubler and bridge. These four topologies are respectively designed, simulated with SPICE simulations. The sensitivity, SNR and RF to DC conversion are analyzed to provide a complete comparison of the performances
