Coupled model for determination of full electroelastic sets of 1-3 piezocomposite with various pillar shapes
Résumé
The knowledge and determination of effective elastic, piezoelectric and dielectric constants for 1-3 piezocomposites play a key role in understanding and optimizing the performance of the material for various applications. This paper details a theoretical coupled method for determining the effective electroelastic tensors [C-E, e, epsilon(S)] of 1-3 piezocomposites with various pillar shapes using computed wave propagation velocities and Christoffel's equation for wave propagation. Results are validated using data from other homogenization techniques. In an effort to reduce computational time, a reduction of the number of velocities needed to attain precise effective parameters is achieved. This last result offers the possibility of an experimental determination using only 6 measurements.
