Review of core/shell nanostructures presenting good hyperthermia properties for cancer therapy

Résumé

Despite some important issues delaying further clinical implementation, functionalized magnetic and photothermal nanostructures continue to be the most promising way of ensuring that hyperthermia treatment of cancer is targeted towards local tumor regions and not surrounding healthy tissues. The choice of the appropriate synthesis method and parameters is of paramount importance in order to obtain the NPs physicochemical properties that optimize the process of transduction of energy into locally released heat. This review aims then to provide that last application of nanomaterials for hyperthermia properties and some prospects.
