Study of minimum mean square error optimal equalizers for 50Gbit/s high speed passive optical networks

Résumé

We evaluated here the positive impact of MMSE equalizers on 50Gbit/s HS-PONs. Thanks to numerical simulations, we show that MMSE-LE and DFE allows to reach appreciable optical budget of 29dB for pre-FEC BER of 10–2.
