Novel static carrier based low frequency multilevel modulations and influence of voltage balancing algorithm on Modular Multilevel Converter capacitor voltage deviation

Résumé

That work tackles the compatibility of the “Reduced Switching Frequency Voltage Balancing Algorithm” (RSF VBA) with “Nearest Level Modulation” (NLM) in the Modular Multilevel Converter. New low frequency modulations with static-carriers are introduced and compared. A Matlab/Simulink simulation is performed for comparison with typical multilevel modulation.
