Προκαταρκτικά απ οτελέσματα της επιφανειακής έρευνας του 2015 – 2016 στον Ανάβλοχο Λασιθίου
Preliminary Results of the 2015 – 2016 Surface Survey at Anavlochos, Lasithi
Résumé
During the period of 2015-2016, the French School of Athens continued its work in the Anavlochos mountains, following excavations carried out there by Pierre Demargne in 1929. An archaeological, topographical and geomorphological survey of the mountain area was conducted. The purpose of this two-year program is to re-locate and re-examine the archaeological remains excavated by Demargne and to give a more complete and accurate picture of the ancient habitation of the mountain range. The Anavlochos range, a site of settlement from the 13th until the beginning of the 7th century BC, is a key point for understanding the transitional period leading from the Late Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age.
