The Strategy Used by High-Performing Asian Economies in Education : Some Lessons for Developing Countries
Résumé
The paper examines the main features of the educational policies followed over the last three decades by high-performing Asian economies. The educational strategy is contrasted with that of the other countries located in the same region. The issues analyzed concern the emphasis placed on the different levels of schooling, the choices made in terms of quantity and quality of education, the schemes used to finance education at the different levels and the choice of school inputs toward efficiency and equity.
