2-Phenylbenzothiophene-based liquid crystalline semiconductors

Résumé

Highlight: 1. New mesomorphous phenylbenzothiophene derivatives were synthesized in two steps from a cheap and abundant precursor; 2. They display photoluminescence in mid-to-high quantum yields; 3. They exhibit smectic mesophase; 4. Charge transports measured by time-of-flight technique are in the 10-3 cm 2 V-1 s-1 range.
