Résumé

This paper presents the mechanical and electrical structure and the power electronic topologies for a high speed machine, a double saliency switched reluctance motor. A new rotor structure with a composite material increasing the motor features has been achieved, optimised and has been patented. The maximal speed is about 200,000 RPM with a power of 1 kW on the mechanical shaft. The converter is controlled by a DSP card, TMS 320. Some experimental results show the feasibility of this kind of machine.
