Experimental Demonstration of a Passive UHF RFID Communication in Time Reversal and Pulsed Wave Mode
Résumé
The study presents an experimental demonstration of UHF (ultra-high frequency) RFID (radio frequency identification) communication based on pulsed waveforms and time reversal with respect of ISO-18000 Gen2 protocol. The considered communication channel is a rich scattering propagation medium and the RFID tag is a passive commercial tag without any modification. The RFID reader (in emission mode and reception mode) is emulated with an RF instrumentation (including arbitrary wave generator and digital oscilloscope) fully controlled by a LabVIEW interface. The experimental results show the interest in terms of energetic efficiency of the time reversal and pulsed modes as compared to the classical continuous wave mode.
