Résumé

In this study, we propose to apply a 3D printing technology to the realization of honeycomb microwave absorbers. At first, printability of simple honeycomb structures was demonstrated and validated by microwave measurements between 2 and 18 GHz. Then, we designed and manufactured multi-scale honeycomb absorbers. These complex absorbers that cannot be manufactured by a standard process, make it possible to increase absorption level at high frequencies, and thus bandwidth. This new shaping technique of microwave absorbers paves the way for the design and fabrication of complex high-performance topologies that cannot be reached by conventional materials and processes.
