High temperature neutron diffraction experiments of UO2 and UO2+x Samples
Résumé
The basic properties of UO_2 are essential to understanding and predicting the behavior of fuels under all conditions. In particular, UO_2 oxidation has been studied for many years in relation to both fuel fabrication and spent fuel storage issues. Phase transition properties of oxide fuels are fundamentally controlled by the nature and behavior of the atomic-scale defects on the anion sublattice. In this study we aim to characterize the local crystalline structure that develops and the oxygen rearrangement that occurs in UO_(2+x) (0
