Two octave supercontinuum generation by cascaded intermodal four-wave mixing in a step index few-mode fibre

Abstract

We demonstrate broadband supercontinuum generation from 560 nm to 2350 nm in a simple step-index few-mode fiber pumped with a microchip laser at 1064 nm through cascaded intermodal four-wave mixing and Raman scattering.
