Method for treating surfaces containing Si-H groups
Résumé
The invention relates to a method for treating a substrate surface bearing Si-H groups to confer to it a phys. and/or biochem. surface-modified property. The method comprises exposing, within a liq. medium, a substrate to at least one polymer contg. at least three reactive sites able to attach to the substrate by reacting with Si-H groups with formation of covalent bonds, and at least a mol. or a mol. part able to confer a modified property to the substrate, the treatment being carried out at efficient conditions to promote the covalent grafting of the polymer to the substrate, and a mol. wt. of the polymer being > 1000 g/mol. Thus, a modified substrate with antibacterial properties was obtained by immersing a silicone rubber (Sylgard 184) material into an aq. soln. contg. 2 g/L of dimethylbutylamine- and butenamine-substituted poly(p-vinylbenzyl chloride), evapg. water overnight at 70°, and washing the modified material in several water baths during 3 days.
