Perçage d’un matériau composite tissé 3D : Influence des conditions d’usinage et de l’usure de l’outil sur les efforts de coupe et la qualité d’usinage

An experimental study was lead in order to identify the impact of cutting parameters over the machining quality and cutting forces when drilling an interlock composite 3D woven with a diamond coated drill with lubrication. Two approaches were studied: design of experiments and standardized tool/material method derived from metal machining. For both approaches, feed rate has been identified as the most influent parameter, while cutting speed was not influent. Then wear tests were carried on in order to quantify the impact of cutting parameters over tool wear. Wear tests have proven that tool wear is mainly dependent on the machined length and that it does not impact much the machining quality.
