On a one dimensional turbulent boundary layer model

Abstract

This paper is devoted to the study of a one stationary dimensional turbulence model used for simulating the boundary layer of a turbulent flow, such as the atmospheric boundary layer. The model is based on the coupling of an equation for the mean velocity with an equation for the turbulent kinetic energy through eddy viscosities. We show that under reasonable assumptions about the data, the system has a weak solution.
