              <p>Eléments sans partie mobile, les microdiodes peuvent dans de nombreux cas jouer le rôle de microvalves à fort taux de fuite. Afin d'augmenter leur efficacité, il est nécessaire d'optimiser leur géométrie. Dans cet article, une nouvelle géométrie de microdiode fluidique, appelée microdiode vortex, est proposée. Une première simulation numérique de cette microdiode permet de mettre en évidence les principaux phénomènes locaux à l'origine de l'effet diode. Les performances simulées, en bon accord avec des mesures expérimentales effectuées sur une microdiode gravée par DRIE sur support silicium, sont comparées aux performances d'autres microdiodes décrites dans la littérature. Il apparaît qu'à ce stade de l'étude, l'efficacité de la microdiode vortex est équivalente, voire légèrement supérieure, à l'efficacité de la plus performante d'entre elles, la microdiode Tesla. Ce premier résultat est très encourageant, d'autant que la géométrie assez sophistiquée de la microdiode vortex permet d'envisager des perspectives d'optimisation variées.  2001 Éditions scientifiques et médicales Elsevier SAS microfluidique / microdiode / microsystème / simulation numérique / expérimental / vortex Abstract-Fluidic microdiodes: An alternative for microvalves. The fluidic microdiodes can be compared with microvalves, but without moving parts and with a high leakage rate. To increase their efficiency, it is necessary to optimise their design. In this paper, a new design of microdiode is proposed. An initial numerical simulation of this so-called vortex microdiode points out the main local phenomena at the origin of the diode effect. The simulated performances, confirmed by experimental measurements with a microdiode etched by DRIE on a silicon wafer, are compared with the performances of other microdiodes described in the literature. This comparison shows that the vortex microdiode has, at this stage of the study, a performance equivalent to or even slightly better than that of the most performing, that is the Tesla microdiode.
