Hot blanking tools thermo-mechanical loading simulations
Résumé
Hot blanking is a promising process to produce cars’ body parts. The high thermo-mechanical stresses in blanking operations may damage blade tools. To get better insight into the damage mechanisms and their evolutions, a finite element numerical model to simulate the process and achieve the thermo-mechanical loadings is developed. The effect of blank’s initial temperature, the cutting clearance and thermo-mechanical behaviour of tools are investigated. Experimental hot blanking tests are performed in order to examine the relevance of the simulations.
