High-Q Implantable Resonator for Wireless Power Delivery

Résumé

The Magnetically Coupled Resonant Wireless Power Transmission (MCR-WPT) is a promising technique to deliver milliwatts of power to mm-size implanted devices at centimeter distances. Such a resonant link is primary dependent on the Q factor of the implanted receiving magnetic resonator, since the transmitting bears much less design constraints. This work uses a high Q topology to propose a 3 mm implantable resonator built with state of the art quality factor of 61.4 when measured in saline water emulating the worst-case dielectric characteristics of the human tissues.
