Characterization of building materials for multi-frequency propagation models

Résumé

The performance of indoor wireless deployed systems depend on the interaction of electromagnetic waves with obstacles like walls and furniture. It is necessary to study electromagnetic properties of material in order to simplify the modelling in propagation tools while keeping precise calculation results. For this reason, it is essential to characterize the reflection and transmission properties of the construction structures. It is also important to acquire a knowledge of the variation of the transmission and reflection parameters as a function of frequencies, incident angles and polarization.
