Overview of GeoLifeCLEF 2018: location-based species recommendation

Abstract

The GeoLifeCLEF challenge provides a testbed for the systemoriented evaluation of a geographic species recommendation service. The aim is to investigate location-based recommendation approaches in the context of large scale spatialized environmental data. This paper presents an overview of the resources and assessments of the GeoLifeCLEF task 2018, summarizes the approaches employed by the participating groups, and provides an analysis of the main evaluation results.
