Editorial
Résumé
This special issue contains extended and revised versions of selected papers presented at the 11th International Conference on Algorithmic Aspects of Information and Management (AAIM 2016), held at the Università degli Studi di Bergamo, Bergamo, Italy, from July 18 to July 20, 2016. The goal of the annual AAIM meetings is to provide an international forum on current trends of research on algorithms, data structures, operation research, combinatorial optimization and their applications. In particular, AAIM meetings aim to stimulate research from various fields for which algorithmics can become a crucial enabler, from computational biology to network analysis and game theory. Moreover, a goal of AAIM meetings is to strengthen the ties between the Eastern and Western algorithmics and theoretical computer science communities.
Six of the papers that were selected by the programme committee for presentation at the conference were invited to contribute to this special issue, by presenting extended and polished versions. Each paper went through a regular review process and was evaluated by at least two reviewers. Preliminary versions of the papers were published in the conference proceedings in Volume 9778 of the Springer LNCS series. We would like to thank the reviewers for their thorough work and the authors for their contribution.
