Le dispositif à escalier, puits et canalisation situé au nord-ouest du Lac Sacré : une ḏȝḏȝ(t) ?
Résumé
Architectural remains consisting of a plate-form with a stepped ramp and a well communicating with a sub- terranean canal system linking the Sacred Lake with the Nile had been observed by Georges Legrain to the north-west of the Sacred Lake. It is suggested here that it formed a device allowing the ow of water in and out of the lake to be regulated, together with an associated ceremonial podium. Several texts lead to the conclusion that a regulation of the lake level was essential for the accomplishment of ritual navigations on the lake. The platform and the pit used in order to open and close the canal system are possibly alluded to in a text of the high priest of Amun Amenhotep.
