Characterization Method for Electrothermal Model of Li-Ion Large Cells

Résumé

Cell temperature is a key parameter in terms of ageing and discharge capacity. The objective of this paper is to present a reproducible method to characterize the thermal and the electrical parameters of a large cell used in an electric vehicle. A real electric vehicle lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell is characterized thermally and electrically at 25 °C. The model temperature and voltage are then compared with the real cell using a high power WLTC (Worldwide harmonized Light duty driving Test Cycle) current cycle at 25°C ambient temperature.
