Design of an elliptical-core few-mode fiber for mode-independent wavelength conversion

Résumé

An elliptical-core graded-index fiber that allows simultaneous intramodal wavelength conversion of mode-multiplexed signals is proposed. The fiber breaks the degeneracy between the LP11a and LP11b modes and prevents detrimental intermodal processes.
