Centrifugal Spreading: an Analytical Model for the Motion of Fertiliser Particles on a Spinning Disc

Résumé

A mathematical model of fertiliser particle motion on a spinning disc is defined and results in an analytical solution for a concave disc equipped with pitched straight vanes. The ratio of the horizontal radial component to the horizontal tangential component of the outlet velocity is also established analytically. These analytical expressions are useful in studying the combined effect of mechanical and physical parameters in order to design spreaders or control systems.
