Polar coordinates projection: A simple data visualization tool

Résumé

The polar coordinates projection (PCP) method consists in plotting samples as the center of gravity of the data values expressed in polar coordinates. Results obtained when applying this technique to several data sets show that PCP, which is computationally simpler than other data-reduction techniques, can be used to obtain an informative graphical representation of multidimensional data, sometimes as informative as principal component analysis.
