‘Here, we don’t only receive orders’. (Dis)Empowering care labour in Madrid and Paris
Résumé
This chapter addresses the experiences of migrant women that care for the elderly as domestic workers and/or household care assistants in Madrid and Paris. Drawing on a cross-national study and a qualitative methodology, this chapter addresses the question of how care workers may be (dis)empowered through their labour experiences caring for the elderly in more or less professional and formal settings.
