Résumé

We present a production pilot line of MOF of 150 kg/day which also includes an extrusion shaping line for the production of 1-5mm pellets. In contrast with usual laboratory MOF synthesis which uses organic solvent, the synthesis and shaping processes exclusively use water which enables their application in air purification devices. We will show that thermal, chemical and mechanical stability criteria are fulfilled for application in individual protective filter (face mask). Pellets of MOF outperformed commercial benchmark adsorbents K adsorbents for ammonia air purification (3M and Norit) in all conditions, especially in dry conditions, for which the commercial adsorbents suffered impaired ammonia uptake and shortened service life. The presentation will conclude on commercialization aspects of MOF based on technico-economical evaluations. The potential of applications to VOCs adsorption and malodor capture will be addressed.
